Teaching and Learning

As part of our ongoing development of teaching and learning, staff are currently participating in the Embedding Formative Assessment Programme in conjunction with the SSAT. The programme is rooted in over 20 years of research by Dylan Wiliams and Siobhan Leahy and builds on the stategies already used in school to support progress for pupils.

In addition, staff are focusing on the development of metacognition and self-regulation in their approach to teaching and learning. This supports pupils to think about their own learning more explicitly by teaching them specific strategies for planning, monitoring and evaluating their own learning.
