Health & Social Care at Ian Ramsey Church of England Academy aims to spark interest and enjoyment of the skills needed to become a care worker in all care settings. Our curriculum develops pupils’ understanding and knowledge of key concepts including Values of Care and the current legislation requirements and the importance of softer skills such as communication skills to ensure individuals right to independence and dignity.
DEEP Curriculum Overview
In line with our DEEP curriculum, through vocational Health & Social Care in Year 10 and 11, pupils develop their understanding of communication and care in different settings before developing their understanding of body systems and disorders as well as basic first aid. The essential knowledge, transferable skills, and tools will also to improve their learning in other subjects with the aim of enhancing their employability when they leave education, contributing to both their personal development and future economic well-being.
