The aim of the Physical Education Department is to provide a balanced curriculum of both team and individual activities which allow students to develop and understand their own physical capabilities and interpersonal skills.
Enjoying participating in sport is paramount and we look to developing in each pupil a lifelong interest in being physically active and healthy and encourage them to continue their involvement beyond the school curriculum time.
The Physical Education Department recognises that all children, whatever their circumstances or abilities, should be able to participate in and enjoy Physical Education and Sport.

Aims of the Department:

  • To promote enjoyment and a sense of achievement at every level.
  • To develop pupils social and interpersonal skills through working with others.
  • To develop and encourage good levels of health and fitness.
  • To ensure pupils have the knowledge, skills and confidence to continue in their leisure time and encourage them to participate in extra-curricular activities.
  • To develop a lifelong interest in maintaining a healthy and physically active lifestyle.
