A message from the
Headteacher: Janet Wilson
Ian Ramsey is a
successful and popular Church of England Voluntary Aided Comprehensive School
situated in the Hartburn/Fairfield area of Stockton-on-Tees. Our main feeder Primary Schools are
Bowesfield Lane, Hartburn and Holy Trinity although we admit students from a
further 20 schools because of our Church of England Status and due to parental
preference. We have a distinctive ethos
based on Christian values which contributes to high standards, a strong work
ethic and self reliance, with a friendly inclusive community spirit.
Ian Ramsey is very much a partnership inviting pupils,
parents, staff and governors to work together in a climate of
co-operation. Together we offer high
standards of teaching and learning and a range of opportunities in a safe
caring environment, which will enable all pupils to reach their potential.

A Message from the Bishop of Durham |
|
 As you probably know, Ian Ramsey Church of England School is one of the family of 56 church schools in the Diocese of Durham, in which over 12,000 children are educated. In the past, the Church of England did much to pioneer education in this country and this school represents the continuing partnership between Church and State at local and national level in the provision of education. Today, over 20% of all schools belong to the Church of England and they educate over 850,000 children. This is a significant enterprise.
Church schools, as they
serve the community
in which they are set, seeks to be distinctive in the education they
offer. The Christian ethos which underpins all their work, and the
particular attention that is given to the spiritual and moral
development of pupils, makes them special. It is my hope that through
the dedication of the Head Teacher and staff, Ian Ramsey school will
provide your child with a sound education in an atmosphere of Christian
love and care.
